What We Build
From hillside stabilization to backyard terracing, we engineer and build retaining walls and grading solutions that last.
Concrete Retaining Walls
Poured concrete retaining walls are the strongest option for holding back significant amounts of soil. We form, reinforce, and pour walls to engineering specifications — with proper drainage behind the wall to prevent hydrostatic pressure buildup that causes failures.

CMU Block Retaining Walls
Concrete masonry unit (CMU) block walls offer strength and flexibility in design. We build grouted and reinforced CMU walls for residential terracing, garden beds, driveway borders, and hillside stabilization. A clean, cost-effective alternative to poured concrete for many applications.
Hillside & Lot Grading
Before any wall or flatwork can be built on a slope, the ground has to be properly graded. We cut and fill hillsides to create level pads, manage runoff, and ensure the finished grade drains away from your home and structures. Done right, a properly graded lot prevents erosion and drainage problems for decades.

Drainage Behind Retaining Walls
A retaining wall without proper drainage is a wall waiting to fail. We always integrate drainage — gravel backfill, perforated pipe, and weep holes — behind every wall we build. It’s what separates walls that last 30 years from ones that crack and lean in five.
Signs Your Slope Needs Attention
Hillside and retaining wall problems rarely fix themselves. Catching them early saves significant money.
⚠️ Leaning or Cracked Wall
A retaining wall that is tilting, cracking, or bulging is under stress. This usually means drainage behind the wall has failed and hydrostatic pressure is building up. It needs to be addressed before it fails completely.
🏔 Soil Erosion on Slopes
If you’re losing soil on a hillside, seeing rills or channels after rain, or noticing exposed roots and rocks, your slope needs grading work or a retaining wall to stabilize it.
💧 Water Running Toward the House
If your yard slopes toward your house or garage, water is working against you every time it rains. Regrading and proper wall placement can redirect that flow permanently.
Why Choose Right On Construction
🏆 30 Years of Bay Area Experience
Steven Turchet has been building retaining walls and grading hillsides in the Bay Area for over 30 years. We know Peninsula soils, slopes, and what it takes to build walls that last.
📋 Permits & Engineering
Retaining walls over a certain height require permits and sometimes engineering plans. We know the local requirements and work with engineers when needed to keep your project code-compliant.
🏠 Locally Owned & Based in Redwood City
We live and work in the same communities we serve. Every wall we build has our name on it — and we build them to last.
